There are many ways you can meditate. In fact if you searched for all the different ways to meditate it would quickly become a full-time job, seeming that the information found is never ending. Gaining how-to information and studying the ways that others achieve there meditation is not the purpose of meditation. The purpose for meditation should always be the focus of why one meditates.
Purpose for Meditation
I'm sure if you asked many people what there purpose is in them meditating you would get many different responses. The reason for this is the form of vocal communications we use. The mind creating made up labels to cause separation among every reflection. The more the mind does this the more all becomes separated from itself. When this happens, the more questions form in the mind with the same illusionary process that began it in the first place. Now the mind becomes chaotic with insane amounts of thought/question traffic. We actually start to believe that we are this mind, these made up thoughts and words that we use to label and cause separation. We no longer see other people, nature and all of life as reflections of ourselves because we become lost in our own made up system of separation. Traveling further and further away from truth, our true self which is unconditional love, the creature. Meditation has a very clear purpose. To clear ones mind to remember there purpose, to remember themselves. By focusing on this intention of finding yourself in a state of pure peace and unconditional Love, you become aware that this can not be done with the mind but by completely clearing the mind so that all walls and barriers that the mind created dissolve and you come home, to the HEART. There, in the heart in this moment now, you connect with all life because you are all. All is one. There can not be any separations in purity. That would be like having a organic farm with the purest of fruits and vegetables and then genetically modifying the entire process with man made chemicals of growth hormones and steroids while believing that the crops are going to stay organic, natural and pure. With that picture painting lets just jump right in.
